Beach was very nice with plenty of chairs and shade. Snorkeling was off of a pier which was easier to walk on than swimming out in shallow water to get to the reef. We saw lots of fish and the snorkeling was not guided so the reef was uncrowded and you were free to go a couple of different directions.... More

So you don't like jets flying over. Come on, it's part of the fun of this unbelievable place. The animal sanctuary was outstanding and the beach had all you could ask for. But, the snorkeling was off the charts. Can't explain it. Unbelievable underwater scenery. "Super man" was the greatest guide across the reef. He pointed out things that we... More

Mahogany bay is a beautiful port and well worth getting up early to see the sun rise and view the ship docking. We were met in the town square by our guides and took a short, but pleasant and quite beautiful walk down to the beach to board the boat. The ride over to the island took maybe 10 minutes... More

Maya Key is amazing! The animals are well-cared for and they get to be in enclosures that are out in the open air. You get to hang out at the beach or pool and then go see the animals in between your sun bathing. The food is great and the staff is super friendly.

Recently spent time at Maya Key on an excursion with Royal Caribbean. Nice clean beach, plenty of room to spread out even with three different excursions there. Plenty of loungers in the shade. Snorkeling was fantastic and was set up perfectly for us. Omar was our snorkel guide and was fabulous. Due to an ankle injury I was unable to... More

We did this excursion from Royal Caribbean. It is very convenient from the dock. The snorkeling was just okay, but the beach was nice. The lunch provided was also good. The island is in the final approach path of the airport. As a pilot, I thought that was a nice feature, but if you want to really escape, it might... More

This cruise excursion had it all and totally worth every penny! We stepped off the tender boat onto a private island getaway complete with tropical birds, a beautiful beach and so much more! We learned about the animal rescue on the island, we fed baby monkeys, we snorkeled, we walked around the entire private island and enjoying the scenery, the... More

We were on a Norwegian cruise and selected this excursion due to low cost and advertised features (beach, animals, replica of Mayan ruins, and lunch). They delivered on all and it was a good day. The boat ride to the island was nice. We never got in the water (wasn't a beautiful beach and the pool was small) but enjoyed... More

This place is an excellent palce to go spend the day sitting on the beach, snorkeling, and even playing in the pool. The animal encounters are a special treat too. The lunch they served was very good too.
