You can climb to a balcony and overlook the very well preserved area from this temple. Incredible temples in the jungle.

Temple II is located in the main square of Tikal. It's one of the temples that you can still climb and the view from above won't disappoint you, for sure! From atop you can see all the buildings around that complex.

Temple II has a wooden staircase on the backside that makes it fairly easy to climb. Once on top you have great views of the Grand Plaza and across to Temple I.

A climb to the top (on safe, wooden stairs) provides a panoramic view of the Grand Plaza, with Temple 1 at the centre and Acropolis North and Central on either side.

If you climb to the top of this temple you'll get great views of the park and the surrounding temples. Definitely worth doing.

If you climb up those stairs, you will have a great view of the plaza and the temple 1. You can also see the top of the other temples rising over the canopy. Sit on the benches and enjoy the view.

We where there in the morning around 7am for the sunrise (with a bus leaving at 3 from Flores). This place is gorgeous, mythic and surprising. With the raise of the sun all the parrots are roaming around, the monkeys howl a bit less, and...More

We hiked up this temple while visiting with a group. They have put a stairway to get up which makes it safer and allows most everyone to see the nice views over the Grand Plaza. The stairway, fencing and scaffolding take away some of the...More

There are just 2 temples you can still climb at Tikal, both with stunning views. My friends and I spent almost half an hour on Temple II taking it all in.
