I visited here in 2008 along with my friends. You can see a 3d map of Guatemala showing major picks and mountains.

El mapa en relieve es ùnico en el mundo. fue construido cuando no habìa la tecnologìa de hoy. Una obra de arte e ingenierìa. Vale la pena conocer el Mapa en Relieve en Guatemala. It is one of a kind. It was built when we did not have today`s technology. It is a art masterpiece and a great ingineer`s work.... More

Guatemalans don't know of this place! Ever since I remember, I bring every person out of town to enjoy the relief map! It's peaceful, in the northern part of the city and it is a great way your guests get a picture of Guatemala!

Google maps has better explanations. Take it as a plan b, plan c or plan d. Nor really much to see, I came here because many other landmarks close early on saturday.

This is an interesting huge outdoor topo map of Guatemala and surrounding countries. I believe all 29 Guatemalan volcanoes are represented. I don't think it is exactly to scale as advertised. You get a feel for the high country (Guatemala City), both coast lines, long valleys, why it takes so long to get from one point to the next, and... More

This map is a must see for anyone visiting Guatemala! It provides an overall view of the country's geography. It was constructed before technology was available so it is truly a work that has to be seen. Aside from that, a visitor will gain an understanding of partly why this country is like it is.

Hearing the story of this map was amazing. We were there with a guy who knew all about the map. He was not a paid guide, but part of an organization we were there with. Before being made, the guy had to go around the country by mule, mapping the entire area. This was late 1800s and early 1900s. He... More

If you have time and are in the area, you might want to stop by, but the place is not great. The pa is run down, very little maintenance and the thing must be 40 years old. Not recommended, unless you are visiting on a sunday and you take advantage that the city closes Avenida Simeon Cañas to the cars,... More

There is a small charge for entry but you do get a very imformative guide to show you around. He even lends you an umbrella to keep the sun off. It's looking a little sad as it's in need of refurbishment, but it was nevertheless interesting.

It is our first stop on our way to the hotel we are staying. This contains the map of the whole country of Guatemala and Belize. It informed us much about locations in Guatemala!
