An interesting formation that somewhat resembles the Eiffel Tower but not worth a vist. Read the other reviews about the history of it-- which doesn't inspire much interest.

Initially dubbed Commemorative Tower of the 19th of July, and later renamed Torre del Reformador (Tower of the Reformer), is a 71.9 meter (236 feet) tall tower in Zone 9. Completed in July 1935, to commemorate the centennial birth of Justo Rufino Barrios, the Guatemala President who instituted numerous reforms. The framework’s structure somewhat resembles Paris’s Eiffel Tower, and was... More

General Ubico was President of Guatemala from 1931-1944, when he resigned under massive pressure from pro-democracy groups. His rule was most noteworthy for the concessions he granted the United Fruit Company, his harsh anti-labor positions, and the numerous attractive colonial style buildings he had constructed. But his most visible project was this tower, which he had built with prison labor,... More

I first saw this attraction while riding a cab from the airport to my hotel at 10:30 pm. During my 4-day visit of Guate, I passed by it several times while riding public buses around the city. Unlike our Washington Monument, this Torre can not be climbed using elevator or steps. It is simply a landmark, nothing else!

No big deal, I do like the tower itself specially when lit at night. I don't recommend you to get off the car for pictures unless you don't mind giving your camera, cel phone and wallet to unfriendly strangers. If you are planning on visiting Central Market, Palacio Nacional or the Cathedral, you can take a look at it while... More

just a tower in the street, like a decoration. The area is not nice at all. I would not go looking for it.

The tower itself is somewhat worth seeing, but as it is not adjacent to many other attractions, it would either require an expensive taxi or quite a bit of walking to go see it unless you have a personal car

Good landmark for Guatemala City! It is not super tall but really worth the drive! It is on the road, so all you need is to pull over and take some pictures....

The Torre Del Reformador is first of all, as already stated, not worth an actual visit. Just drive past, the area / junction isn't that nice anyway unless you want fast food. The story of the tower is sweet though, about how the Reforma area was to be Guatemala's Paris. Grand boulevards, statues of the great and good, a centre... More

Not much of an attraction other than a quick drive-by to see the tower. It is a landmark of sorts, but one cannot climb it.
