If you have to stay in Guatemala City this is where you want to be. Decent hotels, some decent restaurants and safe to walk around, more or less.

A great zone for restaurants, hotels, bars and walking. If you are visiting Guatemala City, probably the best area to get a Hotel and enjoy the city. About 10 minutes from the airport depending on traffic.

Unfortunatelly is not a safe area to walk by, although is the bussiest commercial-tourist zone in Guatemala City.

Good to take taxis and not bother with the hassle of parking a vehicle.

Walk around and find fun places to taste various kinds of appetizing food! People are friendly, but as in other big cities, do not flash valuables! Nearby malls offer activities, specially Fontabella (concerts, tango classes on Thursdays - 2nd. floor, at 7:30 p.m.). You will find excellent coffee and pastries, too. Shakespeare Pub is a famous place to hang out!... More
