This is the home of Habitat for Humanity

The Habitat program has always been admired and the Global Village lets you see some of their efforts in other countries. Well done and very inspiring!

This is a very wonderful place to visit. It's been here in Americus at least 13 years. Very Interesting. Take the time to visit the museum - visitor center and watch the videos.

I visited the Global Village along with a 16-year-old & we were both moved by the living conditions it showed & impressed by the work of Habitat for Humanity around the world. I would highly recommend watching the short video before touring the world sections - each depicts the living conditions in a different country. It will definitely make you... More

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to the village. It was amazing to find out that Habitat for Humanity is a worldwide organization. It was great to see the differences in dwellings in many parts of the world. This was truly a very educational exhibit.

Very moving and meaningful tour of dwellings before and after the work of Habitat for Humanity. See what wonderful work they do for native peoples around the world.

Spend the time to visualize your life in a "Shanty Town". No one should have to live like that. But the light bulb with no electricity gives the person hope for a better life. Then tour the homes that are built for the climate in which they are located. The styles vary a great deal and so does the culture.... More

Highly recommend a visit to this village. There is a recommended donation of $4 per person if you're not in a group of 10 persons or more, but I don't think it's strictly enforced. I believe the organization prefers that you learn about their mission and spread the word, rather than collect fees. The village is authentic and well constructed.... More

This is a self-guided walking tour through the abject poverty of third world countries; and it is devastating. You cannot help but be moved. And then you get to see the types of homes Habitat is providing to the poor all over the world, using local wood, handmade bricks and cement block. Terrific place for kids to show them how... More
