Nim Li Punit is a lovely Maya archeological site known for its many stellae. It has a small museum and interpretive center with stellae and translations of their inscriptions. The site is easy to explore without a guide. There were no other visitors present when we were there and it was beautifully peaceful and serene.

This was our visit to Belize from a cruise. It was a drive from the harbor to the site. Our guide was excellent, he had been involved in the "restoration" and a Maya descendant. It was a bit of a climb but we had time see the various sections of ruins. The stela were especially interesting. There were piles of... More

We visited these ruins as an excursion from our Norwegian Cruise. Our tour guide on the bus ride was fantastic. He was a descendant of the Mayan people and was very knowledgeable and proud to share his heritage with us. He was a great teacher and even made up a quiz game for the ride back to see how much... BZ$10 pp entry fee, open air museum with a few small displays, some of the large stelae, archeological info and history on the site. Well groomed area for a nice walk around, some steep steps. Some of the walls are well preserved, but most of the area is a pile of rubble. Several tombs are visible. We spent about an... More

The ruins at Num Li Punit aren't as well preserved as those at Chichen Itza or other sites, but the tour guides were knowledgeable and kind. They showed us how the native Mayans used different plants - and that those plants are used the same way today. They demonstrated how to get a palm leave ready for weaving, had us... More

We took this tour as a shore excursion while sailing with Norwegian. It also included a trip to a spice farm. We had a great time. Our guide Nathaniel was part of the team involved with the site excavation and as such was full of knowledge about the ruins. It really brought the history to life for us. The ruins... More

We selected H2OTierraTours for the trip to Nim Li Punit and found the choice was an excellent one. Clean comfortable transportation, good road (the best for us so far in four excursions in Belize), and knowledgeable guides. The vendors were not aggressive and had excellent quality souvenirs and gift offerings. The site was most interesting and the stelae were in... More

This has to be one of the best kept secrets of cruise offerings for Maya sites. We did it out of Harvest Cay on the Norwegian Jade. Guides were good, drive to site was under an hour and well worth the effort. The stela inside the visitors center was sharply incised and readable! Site was perched on top of a... More
