We visited on Sunday, and it was very busy! it was like a festival of music, intoxicating smells, families, friends and laughter. There are quite a lot of merchants selling everything from vibrant, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as spices, clothing, souvenirs and so much more. There are make-shift "restaurants" that prepare and sell food. We ate pupusas and... More

Lots of fruit, fresh juices, wonderful local foods. Bring small notes, everything is inexpensive. There are also road side food stalls on the outside of the market itself. Very enjoyable couple of hours.

We went twice, both on Saturdays, the prime day for shopping. Can’t speak to the local prepared food because we didn’t try any, but there was indeed a wide selection of produce. We stocked up on apple bananas, which were something like 10 for $1. The clothing and crafts were unimpressive. If you are shopping for souvenirs, you’d probably do... More

We visited here on a Friday so not one of the busiest days but we were still surprised at the size of it. It was really cool to wander around and see all there was on offer.

The farmer's market in San Ignacio was great. We had pupusas for breakfast and bought cheese, bread, and jam from the Mennonites working there. Everything was delicious and there was a lot to look at.

My wife and I visited the San Ignacio Market on a Saturday when they are at their busiest, and yes it was busy. The market was much bigger than expected. Although there were no maps, it appeared to have a little bit of organization with fruits and vegetables in one location, clothes and artisan crafts in another location, and eating... More

We went on a weekday, so there was less available than on the weekend. It was neat to see all the fruits and vegetables that were being sold. Souvenirs and other things were also available.

This market is open daily although is much larger on Saturdays. Unfortunately, we weren't in San Ignacio on a Saturday so can't comment on that but the daily market is worth checking out. Lots of fruits, vegetables, and juices. Try some new and different Belizean food products. Stewed craboo? Yes!

Nothing very unique. Great source of fruits, veggies, and locally made food products. Did not see locally made artisan crafts and lots of basic clothing needs for the nontraveler.
