1000 foot falls

This is only worth seeing, and it is pretty cool, if you are going to the pine forest on the way to the 5 sisters pools to swim and it's on the way to the Myan Site of Carocal... read more

Went camping (10 $ PP) here a few weeks ago, the weather was amazing, cool and windy. This is a welcome change from the usual sweltering heat everywhere else. The grounds are basic but adequate and who won't enjoy camping next to a beautiful waterfall!

Out in Pine Ridge Forest Reserve you will find 1000 ft falls. You may need to go with a guide to find it but there is signs on the way. Once there u are in the beautiful pine forested mountains with stunning views from the falls. They say the falls actually drop 1600ft but still call it 1000 ft falls.... More

This is only worth seeing, and it is pretty cool, if you are going to the pine forest on the way to the 5 sisters pools to swim and it's on the way to the Myan Site of Carocal. To Carocal only go when it's not raining as the last hill or two are to muddy to go up. It... More

Is a long way, and the road is not that good, but at the end worth it. You can even feel the change of temperature and the view is AMAZING!! Very peaceful... nature is beautiful.

The drive in took much longer than we expected and the mud holes and low areas were a bit more challenging than we planned on. The actual view of the falls was not great and is not worth the drive, but we did meet Jose a local student selling Mayan calendars he had carved in slate, so we came away... More

I wouldn't really recommend this. The falls are at the end of a really long road. It took a long time to get there and the view was OK, but not great. Not worth the drive.

This waterfall view was wonderful and a great place for a picnic - but the roads were extremely rough and directions were not good. It was worth it in the end.

We heard but did not see the Orange-Breasted Falcon here. Nice falls and an excellent place for a picnic lunch. You can only see a few hundred feet of the falls, but the canon area is impressive.

My husband and I have picnicked a couple of times at this spot. You can't actually get right to the falls but there is a nice quiet grassy area to sit and relax, share some wine and look at the falls and beauty around the valley you overlook. The road can be tough but it's worth the drive.

When we went the government was redoing the road... we were in the area for business anyway so decided to pop over a take a look... it was well worth the drive although a bit of a time consuming drive... so make sure you a lot enough time... What is not to love about a natural 1000 foot water fall.... More
