We very much enjoyed our outing to the Belize Botanic Gardens, which we combined with a walk around DuPlooy's Jungle Garden Lodge. Our main focus was bird watching rather than botany but we enjoyed both places. Staff were pleasant at both places, setting out fresh...More

A wonderful place to spend a few hours, looking and learning about the trees and plants. Highly interesting, especially the medicinal trees. The written guidebook is excellent

Loved this adventure at the DuPlooys Lodge. The road is long and a bit bumpy, recommend 4 wheel drive, but it's worth the trip

We did an awesome canoe trip down the Mecal River. We stopped at DuPlooy's Jungle Lodge beach, walked up to check out the botanic gardens, had lunch and carried on. It was a great day!

In mid-december we were the only tourists there, and despite several hours of walking around, didn't see everything in the 45 acres.

This is also a great place for bird watching. There is a tower which you climb to get a great view of the mountains.

Some friends and I stayed at du Plooy's for 3 nights and visited the Botanic Gardens several times/day including once with a birding guide. Different times of day offered different highlights and we loved exploring the hiking trails and bridges along the river, the medicine...More
