Enjoyed going to the gardens and exploring. Our guide was very nice and we learned a lot about medicinal herbs and treatments in Mayan culture which was interesting. It was a long trek to get here from San Ignacio and you go 3-4 miles down...More

The gardens were gorgeous, large, and diverse. We learned about medicinal herbs and learned how to make crickets out of palm fronds.

What a fantastic place! If you can, ask for Lucas, the owner, to give you a walk around the gardens. His knowledge is incredible and he will keep you entertained with a very hands on walk. We even saw howler monkeys on our walk!

Our tour guide told us about the medicinal properties of several of the plants. This made the visit not only beautiful, but informative. But even without the medicinal plant information, the gardens are a beautiful way to spend a few hours.

This is a great garden, but check ahead to be sure that you will see a lot in bloom. In March, none of the deciduous trees had leaves, and few flowers were in bloom. That said, Josh described the medicinal properties of probably 20+ plants...More
