Wills Park is a great place for a family event. There is something for everyone. A great picnic area. Fun park for the kids. A great place for your dog to run. Very clean and well taken care of.

This is a beautiful park located within Alpharetta right off Old Milton parkway on exit 12 of hwy 400 about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. I regular this spot after work to play frisbee golf with buddies. One of my favorite courses around. Lots of trees to make some really cool shots. It's a beautiful wooded course and not a whole lot of traffic. Tip: to park to play frisbee golf, pull into the entrance on old Milton right before the swimming pools and park near the woods. The course starts through a trail in the woods. There are signs posted showing direction to next hole.

It is almost amazing to have a serious equestrian center available as conveniently located as Wills Park's in an area of high land prices. Thus, it is very unfortunate that organizations such as Elite Show Jumping are allowed to run horse shows there. One could not be more inefficient in conducting a multi-day event than ESJ if you tried hard at it. It seems to come natural to them. Instead of a timely sequence of trips, rings sit empty for 10 minutes at a time (and not because of watering, dragging or other ring maintenance). This results in riders fatiguing from being mounted for too long and everybody spending more time than necessary at the event. You even have to wait in a huge line to pay your bill at the end. I believe Clark Howard calls that "customer no-service". The final insult is that I witnessed two members of their staff smoking cigarettes near spectator grandstands - in a "No tobacco products" facility. Please go away and don't come back ESJ.

Decent place to wander around for a walk. Sometimes not the most beautiful, but plenty of space, some wide grassy areas, and multiple playgrounds. The equestrian area was interesting to see. We spent about an hour on trails, paved and unpaved.

You won't believe how unique and diverse this park is....there are sports fields, equestrian rings, walking trails, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and one of the nation's few frisbee-golf courses. Bring the kids, because there's the free Wacky World, a playground on steriods. They won't want to leave, and you may not want to either. Alpharetta really did it right when the made Wills Park what it is!

This is a massive park that offers visitors all sorts of outdoor activities.
There are several parking lots making access to the park very easy.
Walking paths are wide enough for large parties, dog walkers and bike riders.
The park is open year round and also maintained.

We visited the Wills Park in Alpharetta GA in group consisting of both adults and children. At the entrance of the Park is a large play area constructed with wood material which looks outstanding .On a closer look at the plaque , it is observed that it was constructed by volunteering efforts of the local community of residents . There is also very attractively made book store near the entrance for encouraging youngsters to enjoy reading books.

The Park incorporates various sports facilities spread over different locations. This includes swimming, tennis , horse riding etc.

Children in our group enjoyed swings and rides in the Park while we enjoyed the painting made along the fencing , Subsequently , we all had a relaxed walk around the Park for about an hour.

In summary, a very good outing both for adults and youngsters .

This is a lightly used park in Alpharetta. The tennis courts are rarely full, the basketball court sees mild action. During the season, the baseball courts are full. If there was less of the baseball courts and more trees, I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars.

If all you want is to exercise outdoors, then the trail around the park is the only option. The trail is better suited for walkers and runners and not for the cyclists. Most of the trail is under the open sky instead of through the woods.

Dog owners can use 2 areas reserved for big and small dogs. I hardly see them used at full capacity.

During equestrian shows, it gets more interesting to see all the horses participating in the various events.

There are a few picnic areas with grill facilities that can be reserved.

Overall, as my title suggests, this park is nice but not used to the fullest extent.

The walking trails are great here at Wills. My husband and I often jog and/or walk on them on weekends. Not too crowded and we feel pretty safe. I wouldn't go by myself, however, as there are a couple of sections behind the horse park that are pretty secluded and behind some single-story office complexes. I wouldn't feel comfortable by myself. It's fun to see the horse shows, baseball games and activity on the weekends.
