We booked a few nights here on a whim for Labor Day weekend thinking we would spend a couple of days nearby at Wild Adventures theme park. Hurricane Hermine came through on Friday so Wild Adventures was closed Saturday and forced us to spend the day at the campground. That turned out to be awesome. I'll start with the campground.... Really nice park. Clean and well kept. Park staff were a little unfriendly which is very strange for Georgia folks. This is in our backyard and have been here many times boating for the day. Did a weekend camping trying out our new RV. Tons of things to do, or nothing at all. Real gem!!

Well this is a beautiful state park. We stayed at site 35 which is under great oak trees with Spanish moss hanging everywhere. To say that made it cool it didn't but I am sure it was cooler under the trees than out in the open sites. It is a relative flat park which makes it easy to ride my... More

We stayed just one night, but what a lovely park. Most spots shaded with oaks and pines. 50 Amp spots. Kind ranger that stayed after hours to check us in. Clean large bathrooms/showers with one suitable for a family. Gorgeous scenery. Large playground. Close to I-75.

I live in the area and frequently go out there to run the trails. I never feel unsafe and the scenery is beautiful! The staff is super friendly and you can tell that the park is well maintained!

Whether stopping in for a day or camping overnight this park seems to have plenty to offer. My 2 children enjoyed the playground but they also offered fishing, hiking and mini-golf ( for $5 fee). There are plenty of picnic spots and shelters you can reserve. Only about a 5-10 minute drive from I-75, the signs are good at pointing... More

The sites are huge with lots of space between them. Enjoyed biking and lots of hiking paths. The bathrooms looked clean and nice, though we did not use them. The playground is wonderful, with a newly refurbished putt putt golf course. The campsite hosts were friendly and always available for buying wood or renting bikes, etc. They actually have LOTS...
