A great place for the young and the mature to see and learn about these remarkable creatures. Congrats to the Tampa Electric Company for making this beautiful, well maintained, friendly staffed, no charge attraction available. A one hour visit provided a learning and pleasurable experience...More

We went here today, Feb 22, 2018. There were more people leaving than entering. There was not ONE manatee to be seen anywhere. Spoke to many other people, many elderly, and everyone was disappointed.... but a sign should have been put out saying there were...More

This visitor center is a super place to experience the huge creatures close up. In addition to a manatee viewing area they have added a sting ray petting pool! All at NO CHARGE! Once you have seen them from the wooden walkway, you can also...More

What a super cool place to visit! I went here one other time and it was closed (during the summer) so I was super excited. There were no manatees in the normal viewing area- it was unseasonably warm (almost 90) in February. The ray pool...More

This is a really cool somewhat out of the way place. Apparently the manatee come into the harbor at the electric company's waterfront when the water in the Gulf is too cold to sustain them. That means they are here primarily in the winter months...More

Beautiful viewing center, thoughtfully designed and easy access for all. Hundreds of manatees to observe and the educational center was truly informative. Great way to spend time on a beautiful day.

Since this was just off the highway and we were curious, we checked this spot out. While we wish we could've seen more wildlife, we did see 1 manatee and a ray in the water...and several large fish. It was fun to check out and...More

Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center is a great place to learn about manatees and see them in abundance. They also have a stingray tank where you can view, learn about and pet stingrays. A great free and educational experience in the Tampa Bay area.

We are not supposed to feed the manatees at the viewing center anything! There are signs posted reminding visitors not to feed the animals there.
