My husband is into building wooden boats. The boad workshop was quite small. We did take a sunset cruise but there was not sunset :( It was still an enjoyable ride. The boat... read more

If you have a chance take a dinner cruise from the maritime museum, whether it is full moon or not. The museum director was on board to discuss historic Appalachacola. The full delicious dinner was catered by Megan and included a glass of wine or beer all for $75. A very fair price.

Lots of well documented exhibits, videos, even a small library. I learned a lot about the history of the town and its industries. It feels like a labor of love by folks who simply love boats and Apalachicola.

My husband is into building wooden boats. The boad workshop was quite small. We did take a sunset cruise but there was not sunset :( It was still an enjoyable ride. The boat operator was a storyteller - a 71 yr old former oyster catcher. I had to listen very carefully to understand his southern accent! My husband lost his... More

We stopped in for a quick tour, which ended up being much more than that! We enjoyed the displays about the former days in the Forgotten Coast. While at the museum, we learned about their various boat tours and dediced to book the sunset cruise for a few days later. That trip was a great value - $35.00 per person... More

Great visit to the museum and wonderful sunset cruise. Captain Rich and First Mate Ted provided wonderful snipers look at Apalachicola,s maritime past as well as today,s seafood industry including oysters, shrimp, scallops and gulf coast fish. Absolutely beautiful sunset. Tour is great combination of history, ecology of river and bay as well as present day maritime endeavors.

I had a great visit to the Apalachicola Maritime Museum. I especially loved the plans and videos of the paddlewheel boat that the museum is restoring and bringing to the Apalachicola River. Seeing all of the models and artifacts was very cool and the library area is excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful and the guide book is well-done.... More
