We had an outstanding tour with Linda, a retired schoolteacher, who provided us with a wonderful recounting of the history of the Raneys and Apalachicola. The collections in the house - furniture, personal belongings, documents and pictures were amazing. An absolute "must see" and just...More

We enjoyed our tour of the Raney house as our guide was terrific. This home is more modest than the Orman home(state sponsored) and maintained thru private donations.

This beautiful antebellum house has a very interesting history and it’s well preserved and furnished. After visiting on two occasions, I withheld a stat because I found the docent to be not well versed or helpful. On one occasion I believe she had been drinking,...More

It's too bad there isn't more funding for places like this. Raney House is neat, but there isn't a whole lot to see, especially when compared to Orman House. But I do love history, and especially old houses, so I wasn't about to miss it....More

Beautiful old house with history located right on Market St. There is no admission charge though they do have a donation jar. It’s only open in the afternoon. It’s certainly worth your time to pay it a visit.

It cost 2 dollars to see the house but well worth it. The lady that does the tour is very knowledgeable about the Raineys and local history. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to see the house.
