We brought our small kiddos with us and although we were worried the tour guide was fabulous with our boys and so patient. The house itself is a very interesting piece of not only local but state history. Although there are only two original pieces of furniture from the house, the locals of Apalachicola came together to bring the house... More

Not as awesome as the Ormon House, but interesting history none the less. They operate on a donation basis. Lots of enthusiasm from the guide. My only negative feedback is to create sensitivity to tour guides who show bias to solo folks. When the guide asked if I was traveling alone and I said yes, her inflection of "oh" sounded... More

This area has several interesting museums. The Raney house was very interesting. We enjoyed hearing about the family and the role they played in the area.

We were there on a Saturday. There weren't any set time for tours, and the docent, although knowledgeable and informative, kept getting sidelined with people coming in at different times. We finally had to leave without completing the tour as she felt she had to repeat everything for the new comers. We will come me back during the week and... More

Had a nice time re-living a bit of old Florida history. The docent gave us many insights that we would never had know without her.

We've been to Apalachicola a few times and never stopped here. The guide was wonderful and we learned how important the city was in the cotton trade. I highly recommend this visit while in Apalachicola

It's one thing to wander through a house and look at the furnishings and wall hangings; it's quite another to learn the significance of what you see. For that you want the well-informed and personable tour guides of the Raney House Museum to take you through the rooms. You'll be party to some old gossip, a bit of family sorrow,... More

We stopped in the Raney house on a whim. What a delightful time. We learned so much and the sweet docent who guided our tour was precious and a treasury of knowledge.
