About 10 miles outside of Aspen on Hwy-82 going up to Independence Pass. Nice scenic drive (but it's after the portion of the drive where the road goes down to a lane-and-a-half with no center line, and the guard rail looks over steep drop-offs). Well...More

I found out about this trail when I was looking for waterfalls and caves near Aspen. This place is so picturesque! It's a short hike up to see the caves, they had a lot of water from a recent snow, but no ice. It would...More

I only hiked a small part of this trail, but it looked pretty cool! Amazing what water can do to the rocks! Plus it's a place where you can swim / take a dip.

In terms of bang for the buck one of the best walks ever. The mountain brook is tranquil. The waterfall is an interesting set of several small pools and droops with a dramatic backdrop. The ice cave was a hassle for 50+ Dad to manage...More

Parking is limited and it's very popular because of how cool it is. Definitely worth a visit but expect crowds unless you go early. It's a photographer's paradise if you can snap some photos while no one is in the way. Really a beautiful place...More

A surprising short hikes takes you in to such a beautiful area. A small climb down into the grottos is really neat. Just amazing at the rock formations.

Short hike to interesting water-carved rocks and a rushing creek. You can stand in the rocks right next to the water as it splashes on you.

The Grottoes trail is not connected to a campsite. There is a campsite not far from there called "Difficult Campground ". Call the U S Forest Service for information.
