Awesome even in winter

This is a great Trail even in winter. It is protected by the trees in a lot of areas and still has great hiking access.

Just loved this hike. It had everything I love including some moderate incline to get the heart pumping, a long stroll through the meadow with fabulous views of the mountains, and then so many choices of add-on trails to extend or simply go back a different way. We chose to return on the Smugglers Road but if I were to... More

We hiked this the last day of September. The fall foliage was spectacular. This hike starts out uphill. We parked at Red Mountain trail head and it was not too bad. There are several junctions with other trails that allow you to customize your hike's length and time. We did not hike all the way up the valley but took... More

Surprisingly nice in town hike option. Moderate with some elevation and rocks. Can connect to Smuggler for an easy return.

Trail has a nice incline component adjacent to creek but is loaded with large rocks making navigation a bit awkward. Not a favorite for me.

We were looking to do a hike with our aging dog and this was great. We accessed it from town without driving, it had a little elevation gain, and we easily looped around back to town.

This is a fun trail that is easy for the entire family. It travels along the Roaring Fork River, past the old Aspen Art Museum and through lovely trees and plantings. Highly recommended.

Finding the trailhead is a bit tricky, but neighbors are usually about to help direct the lost. Once on the trail it goes along Hunter Creek as it borders gorgeous mountain homes whose owners are lucky to have the sound of falling water out their door.

We took 4 different hikes while we were on vacation in Aspen/Snowmass and this one was the most picturesque.

Love this trail. When you go up the trail a few suggestions. When you get to the tall waterfall on left - take the trail to the right. It will loop you back to Hunters Creek and gives awesome views of Aspen. If you keep going up the trail.....you can take the back way to Smuggler observation deck.
