This is one of the most spectacular hikes in the Aspen area. Given the altitude - you start at nearly 10,000' - it is not for the faint of heart. Only Smuggler's is more challenging. The views on this hike are superior

It's gorgeous - there is no two ways about it. But, it's not easy. It's worth every step, ever huff and every puff. One of the best hikes in this valley!

I am a very novice hiker- I found Cathedral Lake trail challenging- and had to head down before I got to the lake! However my family ventured on and loved the whole trail!
