I have been going to this mini golf course for years. I have been bringing friends and family here, as it was beautiful and fun, nice way to spend some quality time. The course is in major disrepair. Tears in the carpet. Bird crap everywhere. Needs paint. The little river bed was stagnant with mosquitoes. Plants overgrown or half dead. Quite frankly I was embarrassed and next time I will look before I suggest.

A visit to Catalina Island is not complete without playing a round at the famous Golf Gardens miniature golf course! Bob and Larry, who run the course, are very friendly and keep the course looking great. The holes are classic. No gimmicks or corny props, but a lot of challenging and fun holes that keep you entertained no matter how many times you play them. The forested environment is a real treat on a hot summer day and makes for a really neat setting in any season. This course is one of those special treats that is getting way too hard to find any more!

So, you are visiting Catalina Island and you have done the tour of the Island and are looking for something fun to do. If that is the case, you should give the Golf Gardens Mini Golf Course a try.
I am not a big fan of regular golf. In fact, I don't much care for it. But I love mini-golf and have played on many different courses. This one was my favorite.
The holes are very original. As you approach each green, you will find yourself walking the length of it trying to figure out how it works. If I hit the ball in that hole, where will it come out? Maybe I should aim for that hole.
Plus, the place has cats all over the place. The owner loves them and they hang out in his office and all over the course. Make sure and chat with the owner as he is a very nice man.
When we were at the course, the charge was $7 for adults and $4 for kids. I suspect you can find a coupon in one of the many tourist guides in town.

Had a lot of fun playing miniature golf with our family group of ten. Loved the layout, some challenging holes, but lots of laughs! Great family time!

Catalina is a beautiful place, and we saw lots of great sights while on the island. We had plenty of free hours while we were there, and we tried this great miniature golf course one morning before lunchtime!
It's a full 18 holes, with a good variety of challenge and fun. Each hole has its own Catalina-themed name and plaque with some information about Catalina! We learned about fish, trees, and other aspects of the island. That made the course much more fun. Add some beautiful, big trees for shade and it's the perfect 1-2 hour excursion! Highly recommended

Came with my wife on our honeymoon. Mini golf was one of our things while we were dating so we had to check this place out. Our first impression was that this place was gorgeous. The holes are pretty tricky for the most part. This definitely isn't your average putt-putt mini golf course; the holes went from par 2 to even a par 6. The par of the entire course is 51, so it averages out to par 3 for each hole. They had obstacles that I've never seen at any other mini golf course. We both thought we were pretty decent at mini golf, but we scored terribly. The only room for improvement here was that some of the holes had turf that was wet, and one hole was completely submerged in water so that your ball goes into the drink when it goes in. Still, great fun for $9 a round.

18 hole mini golf in Avalon. A great and cheap alternative to the expensive tours and other stuff in Avalon. Def fun for All. My fam and I enjoyed the tricky little holes.

Mini Golf and horseback riding were the highlights of our Catalina trip. We loved this little golf course! It feels like a very natural golf course without the cheesy windmills and things like that. And yes, there are dogs and cats all over the place. They're really sweet and cute.

For anyone who has visited Catalina Island over the years, this mini golf course is a tradition. No, not the best. Not maintained as good as it could be....but it is fun...and some holes are down right frustrating. Makes for a lot of laughs. The prior reviewer mentioned the cats. Got to love them. Don't harm them. They can help you get a hole in one if you let them...especially on the last hole. If the ball doesn't go in, they will push it in for you. Even though the cats are great, don't forget the wonderful dogs. I highly recommend if you are a person who like to have fun.
