Start off with a short film for an orientation. The permanent galleries are very well done and very interesting. They have a lot more room to display their collection. The building itself is worth the visit. One of the best small museums I have been...More

This amazing new Museum just opened June 17, 2016 after a long awaited construction project! Don't miss this! The marketing staff and team should be very proud of their efforts and labors of love to help create a first class museum! Congratulations on your new...More

I'm glad I visited the museum, but it's not worth a repeat trip. There is essentially nothing regarding Native American habitation. 90% of the exhibits focus on visits of famous people to the island between the '20s and '40s. Most of the exhibits are photographs...More

In my last visit to the Museum, I had the chance to see the new facilities being built, as well as the promotional materials in preparation for the grand opening on June of this year. This is going to be a major step for this...More

This museum is not really about the story of Catalina Island, but about the few rich and famous that intersected with the island years ago. There is very little about the history of the true residents of the island. There is nothing about the flora...More

Love the presentation and the information. I only wish there was more information on the indigenous peoples of the island.

This is fun because it gives the Hollywood stories from the past. What does Wrigley, Ronald Regan, Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe have in common? You'll have to go to museum and find out! It takes you back in time and lets you imagine the...More
