the must see for Catalina

the pristine beauty of the island shore is revealed, visibility can be greater than 100 feet down. The sealife is fantastic.

You only see 2-3 different fish. It is a quick trip. What you get to do/see doesn't justify the cost of the trip.

I have been doing this tour for well over 50 years and still enjoy it. You just travel around Avalon but you get a great view of the fish that are living here. There are not a lot of different fish but it is still fun and little one's love to see the fish up close under the glass bottom... More

Five of us traveled to Catalina and decided at $20 each to go on the glass bottom boat ride. It takes you out l/2 mile by the rocks (not far) and for $5 you can buy fish bait to give the fish so they come around and you can see them through the glass. Most of the fish we saw... More

We first tried to get on what we thought was the only "Glass Bottom Boat Tour", only to find out their boat was out of order. Slightly disappointed after seeing all the fish in the water near the docks...we continued to watch them from the pier. THEN WE SAW a different GBB pulling in. We asked how to get tickets....it's... You will be on a boat, but the whole tour will be within 20(?) yards range from you board. The boat is nice, and glass bottom allows you see the ocean floor and fish, which is also nice. There are two observation points, about just a few yards from each other. And really you will be looking at the same... More

Beautiful trip never seen anything like it. It was some time ago but certainly enjoyed it. Colorful fish not too long saw nice coastline views also.

We only saw two types of fish. Pretty boring. Half of my group fell asleep on the boat. I think even a child would get bored too.

This tour was a great addition to our romantic little getaway. We stayed overnight and returned to Long Beach the next day. Lots of great food and shopping there.

The Glass-Bottom Boat tour is an easy way to see the local sea life without getting wet. The 45-minute trip goes out to the protected Lovers Cove, and once you're in shallower water there's no end of opaleye, calico bass and garibaldi. If you've done much snorkeling in warm waters, with their bright tropical fish, you'll find this a little... More
