Gorgeous hiking areas with Aptos creek running through it, there is even a waterfall if you want a bit of a challenger. Also great for just a leisurely walk in the woods!

A well-organized trail system makes this the idea place to get into the forest! True beauty in the trees and along the active stream that goes through the park. Don't miss it!

With a choice of big basin or nisene, what should we do for beauty, redwoods and ease? My husband is in poor health but still wants to see the redwoods in particular. we are driving from down from SF to Aptos later on a Tuesday morning. also, do either of these parks offer carts/motorized or wheel chairs? Thanks

You can drive through many parts of Nisene Marks State Park, though the bigger redwoods are in Big Basin. There is a loop path next to the Big Basin Ranger Station that is set up for level walking and is ok for wheelchairs... More
