It has broken up significantly in the last few years, as well as the end of the pier that goes out to it. Still an interesting place to look at when you're at SeaCliff beach.

For 45 years, we have walked on the Palo Alto, taught kids to fish, watches sunsets...and even swum around it for triathlons. In that interval, it has doubled its age, and our rare but occasionally ferocious swells have taken their toll. The Palo Alto has...More

We just happened upon this ship and marveled at the visitor's center and all that they had to share about this concrete ship. It is well worth about 30 minutes of your time.

The ship is about to be recovered by the ocean. Just too many storms over the years and it smells bad from decaying marine life.

I think in 1934 the handsome vessel was moved to Aptos and was the site bars, dancing, music...Then, one day, recently, it had a breakdown. Not a pretty site. Historical.
