Visited in the middle of the day and whilst entering the whale's mouth is cute it is a pretty pedestrian ride though minature models of Disney scenes. Can be missed, I think

As the title suggests, I must echo some of the other reviewers of this ride. The best time to see this ride and Casey Jr is at night!! The villages are absolutely amazing! Even my teenage kids loved this one at night!

This ride is magical at nighttime! The little villages are lit up in a cool way making the whole thing feel like a true bedtime story. Super mellow. Great for small kids and older folks.

This is a great ride for small kids. Its calm and relaxing, just a nice little boat ride around some iconic locations. There is little to no line as well. Highly recommend for little kids.

Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, my favorite time to see this attraction is at night. It becomes very magical and like its name, a wonderful storybook. The Cinderella castle up on the hill with the pumpkin carriage halfway down has to be seen at night because that is the story! Geppetto's Alpine village is also wonderful at night with the light coming from inside each building and the mountainscape behind it lit, including the Matterhorn behind that. Other scenes need that soft lighting to really give you the feel of being inside that story. Additionally, you see a heck of a lot less people milling about or outside distractions. If you just want a boat ride that is devoid of atmosphere, ride it in the day. But if you want to be taken into other lands as Walt Disney intended from the start, ride it at night!

Did this early. Boat ride where you see model houses from fairy stories. Very well done. Would not break your back to do it but little kids may love it. And adults that like scale models!

The good is .... they updated their animatronics for the Yeti's and they were pretty cool. The bad is .... There was a 75 minute wait in line for this ride! And the ride itself needs some work still as it is so jerky and bumpy that it makes my neck and back hurt every time.

The Storybook Land Canal Boats are located in the Fantasyland section of Disneyland. There wasn’t much of a line when we arrived but it moves quite slow. Our family enjoyed the slow ride through multiple kingdoms of Disney characters. The detail that goes into all of the sets and flowers is pretty amazing. We did the ride at twilight which was nice to see some of them lit but really this ride is probably better during the daytime.

Like most of the Fantasyland rides, this ride is complete with long lines. After you go on the ride, you will realize that it is due to the length, speed, and loading time for each canal boat. As you enter the mouth of Monstro, you'll see why it is called storybook land. It is really quite relaxing and fun to hear the gondolier recite the stories of the classic fairytales. On the other hand, we've had gondoliers speed through their lines while others take their time and make it a lot more entertaining. Take time for this ride even if you only ride it once.
