Must do ride at Disney California Adventure
This is the previous building for Tower of Terror. So the concept is the same, just different story line. You go into a lift that goes up with sudden drops down. And it does this several times with the highest drop right at top where you get a view of the park. Overall an exciting ride but we had a youngster crying after the ride.

    I’m free, free fallin
This ride is such a blast. My unpopular opinion is that I’m glad that it replaced Tower of Terror. We went for Monster After Dark - which I’ll admit is not as good as the normal version (I’m partial to the other soundtrack.) But that being said it’s way more intense and I was shaking in my boots during those drops.

Great ride - we went 3 times in a day
We ran into the park at the rope drop at the start of the day and went here first. Got through in about 25 minutes and had a great time. This is an elevator drop, plain and simple. If you like that kind of ride, welcome. If you don't, stay away. It's not like they hide what the ride is about as it was previously the Tower of Terror, which is an elevator drop ride in a haunted hotel. I will say, the first ride was quite an experience because you end up doing these periods of rocketing up and down the elevator in the dark with little breaks where you see Guardians characters in recorded scenes. I liked it because you actually get enough lift on the falls that you can start to come up out of your seat. Kids loved it and wanted to keep going. We did a second ride immediately after the first and then came back later in the day for a third. If you read any of the 1 star reviews, you see they are all by people that hate elevator drops or didn't know what they were getting into. Know the ride and enjoy it!

    Family favorite!
Our families favorite ride in Disneys California Adventure park! It’s the same mechanics basically as Tower of Terror in Disney World, but with a Guardians theme and on this one you don’t ride through the building, you just stay in the elevator chamber and go up and down. (This does have some large drops and it’s dark for a few seconds in between) The wait is usually long throughout the day, but worth it. The ride queue is shaded from the sun and has some fun displays to look at. This is also one of the rides that provides a photo as well. We rode it 2 times while there! 🎉

    Interesting experience!
My partner and I decided to give this a go, even though I've avoided this ride in both of its forms previously. I can say that, not having any idea about what it involves, it left me both invigorated and laughing a lot. My partner, however, was pretty white afterwards, and vowed to never go on it again. It is a ride of lots of ups and downs, and if you love the feeling of g-forces, this could definitely be the one for you. I didn't mind it, and it caused interesting feelings in the body, but I am glad it isn't any longer in time. It seemed to go on long enough! Possibly more for the more adventurous, but I did feel safe on it. Worth a go, even if just once.

Big Drops That You Feel But Don't See
Went on this ride by myself. I am mildly afraid of heights and can get motion sick if I am not careful with timing my meals. I personally didn't have a problem with this ride. You do feel the drops but you don't see them like you would on a tower of terror or an outdoor one. Thus, I didn't get frozen in my fear of heights. The little children didn't seem to tolerate the ride well, there was alot of screaming and crying at the end. The story was fun and the ride was pretty quick. It is a popular ride so would recommend a lightning lane.

I like Tower of Terror, but felt it was kinda jerky, but the new ride is so much smoother and unpredictable. The music and visuals make the ride so much fun. I laugh and scream throught the whole ride.

Easily the greatest ride in California Adventure! The line is actually fun to be in too! Rocket from the movie narrates and there are things to see and experience before you get on the ride. Fun! The ride itself is INSANE!!! Make sure you put anything loose away because you will lose it! I laughed my head off at the drops and lifts - so many you could barely breathe. The movie parts were fun too - we watched the movie that night at our hotel because the ride was so much fun!

Before the ride we saw Avenger characters up high on a ship. There was also a Wakanda Warrior demonstration in the plaza nearby. There is so much put into the presentation of the rides. It makes it more enjoyable and memorable. We also got to visit with Wasp outside after the ride and give fist bumps with starry-eyed 8 year olds.

Fun scenario with the Guardians of the Galaxy breaking out of captivity with your help. You ride an elevator Very Fast up and down an erratic number of floors several times. Safely belts allow room for you to rise and fall several inches in your seat. Not for the timid or when your tummy is uncertain. Great fun if you enjoy roller coasters - fast but no turns to bother anyone with neck issues.

This ride is the former Tower of Terror which was a great ride. This one is more fun for a Marvel fan, especially when you first enter the building and are waiting in line. Tons of Eater eggs inside and in the commentary.

Rocket is the narrator and the dialogue is clever. The mechanics of the ride are exactly the same as the Tower was but climbing through the back there are a ton of old Tower holdovers but also a ton of models and props from different parts of Disneyland. You pick that up when you have been there a few times.

Lines are always long outside and not much to enjoy outside so that would be my only issue. But still love it.

It’s a great conversion from the Hollywood Hotel and fantastic use of the Guardian’s universe creating a full immersion experience. Also keep a look outside and in and around the tower as this is where the marvel characters can just show up, sometimes randomly. We were in the queue when the black Panther just came out of an exit and was interacting with the tower like he was carrying out an investigation.

The line moves too fast to really enjoy the queuing area. There is so much going on, you feel like you've missed about 90% of it by the time the ride is over. Otherwise, it's a great ride!

One of our family faves. The queue moved quickly making the 30 minute wait seem to pass swiftly. Hang onto your hats. Recommend you leave bags, hats, etc with someone not riding or in a locker.

Do not ride this if you are afraid of heights or unexpected drops! If you don't like rocket type of rides that launch or drop you, you will not like this experience at all!

I did not enjoy this ride although my husband and son did. There are way too many drops and launches that I couldn't even focus on what briefly appeared on the screens when the doors opened. I was so busy worried about what was going to happen next. I probably could have handled 2-3 drops, but I was shaking by the time I got off. Less drops and more time showing the characters on the screens when the doors open would make this better for me personally. Teenagers on with us seem to love it. They've turned this into a thrill ride. From reviews it seems you either love or hate it.

Although it is a thrill ride and I'm not usually one for those, this was my favorite ride at Disneyland Resort. It's thrilling, yes, but not scary. The drops are smooth, not jerky like its sister ride, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. And the music makes the ride.
If worried about motion sickness (the drops are pretty intense) take a dramamine, and you'll be fine! Loved it!

This is the funniest ride in California Adventure. It shots you to the top of the building at a high speed then stops and the door opens and you can see across the whole park, then it drops you to the bottom at high speeds, It does this several times before the ride ends. I Love this ride and go on it every time I'm here.
