Ok stop at Route 66 before crater, located at Amboy town. Place is restored to it's "old glory". The reopening was 2008.

Amboy is a cute little ghost town on Route 66. It’s a good place to go to get the deserted R66 experience before you get to the Kingman-Seligman stretch that’s packed full of cars. If you want to take some creative photos, such as you...More

If you judge Roy's as a cafe or gas station, it's not much. But I think that misses the point. Roy's is history and it's being preserved. The cafe is open for a cold Route 66 root beer, some souvenirs of just a few pictures...More

Sad to see that only the gas station remains in use but seeing this place in the middle of nowhere with long freight trains passing nearby, is very evocative of what Route 66 must have been like in its day. Only a 10 minute stop...More

This place NEEDS to be preserved so spend some money there on root beer or something, but the gas is waaaay expensive. It's definitely a work in progress, but it's historic and important and the work so far is amazing. A good pit stop on...More

The place is just so unclean. If you need a toilet break you will be brave to visit Roy's. Historic location that needs to be history
