    Western Town
This is a recreated western town that is fun for tourists. There are a few shops here and a bakery. It is free to park and visit here but the attractions charge a fee. There are many things to do here: zip lining, visiting a mine, seeing a variety of reptiles, taking a short train ride, a shooting gallery and having old time photos taken. This is a fun place to stop if on the Apache Trail.

    Glad we went
Wasn’t sure what to expect. Very cool place to visit. You can spend a short time there viewing the buildings or take more time with tours , train rides and entering the museum. Highly worth the drive and the Superstition Mountains provide great scenery on the drive there

Fine for 2 hours or so of ghost town adventure
I took my 5 year old out for a little ghost town adventure on a Saturday. While this area doesn’t have much for a kid that age, she still enjoyed it. We took the train ride (somewhat pricey for what it is but the conductor had a whole story about the area and it was nice to see the full grounds). The shops are cute- touristy, but better than you’d expect. We had lunch in the saloon. Funny place with proper old west saloon atmosphere. Menu wasn’t anything to write home about. If you have any allergies, you’re not going to find many accommodations on it- it’s standard pub grub fare. A few things were closed when we were there so we didn’t see everything. My kid was too scared to go down the mine - perhaps something less intense would be a nice option for kids.

Step Back In Time! A Must Go Place!
This is one of my most favorite places in the Valley. I bring all my family and friends visitors here. You definitely feel like you stepped into the past. If you visit on the days that they have their reenactments it’s even more of a delight. If you have never been then you must! It’s great for a solo day, a family day or to show your visitors an old west feeling.

Fun for ~1 hour family visit
We stopped in to walk around the site with two young kids and appreciated that the walk around was free. The kids were entertained and it was interesting for us. The surrounding views are exceptional (Superstition Mountains). I can’t comment on the authenticity as I’m not well versed in ghost towns nor the history of the site.

Fun piece of history for all ages
Fun stop for a little piece of history that all ages can appreciate. We did the tours of the mine, bordello, and visited shops and saloons and it was a good time for all of us. Our favorite parts were the Ghost Tour by Fear Frontier and the horseback ride at OK Corral next door.

    Nice western town
A nice Arizona western town re-creation!! A town mercantile, church saloon, and of all things a brothel!! Several things you have to pay for like mining, zip line, train ride around the town, but the gunfight performance is free. That is performed on the hour usually starting at hogh noon. It was gunshot loud but very entertaining. The gunfighters did hold out their hats for tips, but they earned our few bucks. Overall, you have to stop here even if it is touristy.

    Goldfield Ghost Town 2023
We had a great time here. The old western town would be great for families looking for a 1/2 day trip. There is a restaurant and cafe for eating/relaxing. The service at the cafe was good! Our lattes and cookies delicious. The shoot out show was good and not to long. The guns are loud so little kids may be frightened. We did not ride the train or pan for gold.

    Nice stop
It’s as you would expect - was busy but still received our food & ice cream with not much wait time. Seating is a premium in spots. The gunfight happens on Main Street and everyone gathers around - hard to see if you are late to the game. Typical little shops to buy stuff at. We did the train ride and the fellow doing the driving was well informed. Also went on the mine tour - it’s 20 minutes but learned lots from the young guide.

    Mandatory tip at the Saloon
The food was ok, beer was cold however the service was slow and served on disposables. There was live entertainment which was good. Joust a word of caution we were a group of 8 and there was a mandatory. 20% gratuity added to the bill with no warning from staff. So before you square up check your bill to sees ifa tip was added by staff before you pay and add any further tip!!

We were camped at Lost Dutchman Campground and this is about one mile down the road. You can't miss it as it is very large property. Free Entrance. It is a recreated town with lots of old buildings that have been converted to shops and places to eat. There are alot of activities that are free, ie. watching a gunfight, seeing inside stores, etc. Walking around with an ice cream cone was enjoyable! There is an old church. Looks like they still have services there on Sunday. It is not open for viewing. Some activities require a fee like the narrow -gauge train ride, zip lines and tour of a gold mine. Parking can be difficult. There is also a small campground on its property. We thought it was interesting.

Super fun! You can see the famous Superstition Mountains and experience an old mining village with a train tour, mine tour, gold panning and lots of shopping and food. The activities do have fees but you can huddle them or just do what you want. My husband and daughter did the mine tour - it was kitschy but they enjoyed it. There is even a main square shootout like the old west. Shopping was great. Also a saloon and treat shops too.

Well worth visiting. Easy to find and get to. Very cool piece of history. Well preserved and the mine tour was excellent! Guide was outstanding! Awesome Cactus. Reasonably priced. Get there early as it gets crowded fast.

This was a hidden gem on our way to Lost Dutchman State Park. It is exactly what you expected to be, lots of little shops. I would definitely recommend the train ride.

The only real gold mine is all the money they are raking in. The $12 gold mine tour is not a mine. Maybe 1 wall is real rock. And how can it be called a ghost town when almost every building is filled with a store or a restaurant. Also every little thing costs $ to see. $5 to tour the Bordello.
They did have lots of old mining tools and equipment. But this is just one big tourist trap.

After an a visit in Apache Junction stopped in near closing and was able to get a couple of tickets for the old fashioned train that goes around the mine.
As we had never been there before, just happened to stumble onto the small building that sells train tickets as you walk up to the ghost town.
Did not know what to expect as had never been to the Goldfield Ghost Town.
The conductor played the part perfectly and gave some interesting historical insight into the site and if you sit on the side that does not face the train station, the view of superstition mountain is fantastic.
Awesome for kids of all ages.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon near Spring Break, but we were still shocked at the crowds. It made it hard to hear or really see the gunfight reenactment that takes place hourly, but we were able to get tickets for the 25 minute mine tour without having to wait long, and we really enjoyed that. Amazing to see and hear about the conditions they worked in.

I found this by just searching google maps prior to my visit. It looked cool from the pictures posted online. It does feel like a tourist trap. It's not super close to anything so unless you have plans to check out something else off 88 I would say it's only worth going to if you are into this type of theme. It's not real but will give you the west vibe. It is free to just roam around so for that it's hard to complain. But from what I saw prices were expensive.

We went to this restored western town with the 2 oldest granddaughters whom we were visiting. There are a variety of shops that you can visit, including a restaurant and museum. There is no entrance fee to the town, but individual activities are offered for a fee. However, you can wander and enjoy the ambiance of this 'ghost' town founded in 1893. All in all, it was a fun afternoon with our granddaughters.
