Since my son is an Eagle Scout, I wanted to visit this memorial. It was an interesting tribute located just blocks from the White House. If you're in the area, you should go see it!

This memorial is located very close to the White House grounds, on our first attempt to see the memorial the Secret Service close the area around the White House and we could not get to it. The next day we were able to visitThe memorial which consists of a statue and reflecting pool. The statue seems a bit strange as... More

Another statue as a memorial to Boy Scout of America. It is situated right in front of Department of Commerce and a few minutes walk from the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion. A nice place to sit for a break from seeing the White House and/or just for a break for lunch. Other than that, it is just another statue in the... More

Very / too symbolic 'manhood & womenhood ideals' with the large man & woman next to a boyscout, with the wrong dimensions of the statues, .... Some complain the man is nearly nude & judge this inappropriate. It is not, if you check the symbolism. It is an attempt of art, but in the end it's in fact just silly.... More

I have an Eagle Scout at home, he wanted to see this memorial. It is very nice. We met boy scouts from all over the country while we relaxed at the memorial. Very nice

A nearly totally nude man standing behind a Boy Scout next to a scantly clad woman doing a magic trick. I'm an Eagle Scout with two Eagle Scout sons and even after reading the explanation I was still disturbed. I'm glad there is a tribute but it needs to be more appropriate and represent the Boy Scout movement better.

After spending several years in various Scout leadership positions, I always enjoy seeing this monument. Unfortunately, this time of year, the pool is drained. The grounds around it are in need of attention, several bald spots on the lawn.

Makes you wonder if there are any "Boy Scouts" in Washington DC? I was so tempted to grab s bottle of bleach and a brush to scrub this. This was a real shame.

The boy scout memorial is a nice little spot on the east side of the ellipse. It is easily accessed from 15th St. NW. There are nice benches where you can sit and reflect. If you are in the area, it's worth a quick stop. Make sure you read the inscription to the left of the memorial, it helps explain... More

The Boy Scout Memorial is one of many monuments placed in and around The Mall in Washington, this one being not far from the White House. While created for a good organisation, this is probably one of our least favourite seen during our visit to the city. The monument is a bronze statue of a boy in scout uniform, flanked... More
