Although the rising fountain doesn't run at night I don't think. It's a really nice, calm place to walk through at night. Enough open space for you to take a deep breath of fresh air but at the same time you able to look at...More

Very nicely build in a round shape with water in between. A unique world war II memorial where you can pay respect to our soldiers and have a good feel too. All countries are marked. Very nice place.

This is one of my favorite memorials in D.C. It is so pretty and very moving with the wall of stars and the water. Spend some time there reflecting on the sacrifices made. One very annoying thing...people put their feet into the pools despite the...More

Best memorial at the National Mall! Very impressive and very well done with some great quotes from the war etched in the walls.

This memorial was funded and built really almost too late for many of the Greatest Generation who served in WWII to come and visit. So if you are in DC and on the National Mall - please visit it - it is a magnificent tribute...More

This monument is most beautiful on a bright sunny day when the sky is reflected by the pool or at night. I highly recommend renting a bike on a summer night and riding through the mall. This monument is stunning. It's not stunning on grey...More

I first saw this Memorial in 2013 on Veteran's Day. I have since been back several times to pay respect. I think this pays appropriate respect to this deadly world conflict.

Not much to learn at this location but it is picturesque. Also very empowering quotes throughout that make you proud to be part of a country that helps bring freedom to others.

Very nice area. Plenty of ppl but not overcrowded. Lots of details in the memorial. Right along the reflecting pool.

This memorial represents Is beautiful. The way it's tied into the reflecting pool is brilliant. One side represents the Atlantic and the other the Pacific.

I believe there is, when i visited there was a lot of visitors in wheel chairs, and good disabled access to the memorial. The veterans in question had come by coach, but i am sure there was car parking there as well.
Is it safe for a woman alone at night? Can I place flowers at the Pacific Theatre area for my father?

The area is fairly well lit at night and has a number of people there, that being said, there are lots of dark areas nearby with many parts of the memorial blocked from view from the outside, so, unfortunately the beset I... More
