Excellent options for many types of food - seafood, thai, coffee, cheese, fresh meat etc. Free parking is a huge plus. Indoor and outdoor seating, was a nice sunny day with lots of people, very crowded on Mother's Day. Really nice to see diverse age...More

A great place to shop for groceries and other stuff. Grab a bite of the different varieties of food. parking can be a chore and you could get blocked in quite easily. Still worth a try.

I'll start out with a disclaimer that dishes at Union Market can be a little pricey at times, but I wasn't disappointed with anything I had there. I had an arepa at ArepaZone and a half-and-half pork and slaw bowl at TaKorean for just over...More

For a different eating experience, try the Union Market. Many vendors selling a variety of foods from different cultures makes the market a place to go for good international foods, served quickly. Great for people watching, somewhat difficult to find a table to sit at...More

Union market was fun, lively and lots of great food options. Honestly it was out of the way and not so easy to get too. We ate at 3 different places and everything was awesome. There is a huge variety of choices to eat. You...More

Had out of town guest and wanted something different. This is a food consortium where up and coming local chefs can get exposure without having to support storefronts/real estate. It is several rows of booths with cuisine ranging from BBQ (which I had and LOVED),...More

I heard Florida Ave. is hilly. Can an older person walk up ok, to get to the Market?

The market is on a slight grade, but nothing strenuous. I usually walk over from the nearest Metro and have never noticed the grade, as it is so gradual.

Planning a dc visit and curious - is this a collection of shops, restaurants, etc, sort of like a farmers market, or is it like one restaurant? Sounds cool, just unsure exactly what it is.

It is like a farmers market. I would think though its more food vendors are here. There is a stall for produce, seafood, and meats, but you can 100 percent eat here.
