We went to the "Black Side of the Moon" this past weekend. Great, intimate theater with not a bad seat in the house. The very talented cast was from Chicago. I'm sure they aren't there for long, but I would definitely go back to Woolly Mammoth to see a different show. Building is unique, theater is comfortable and there are... More

Fun, inspired, and provocative show with a great group of talents. I would recommend to friends living in the DC area or visiting.

Woolly is the best small theater in DC. Engaging performances, top level talent, fresh new stories, and excellent set design. I'll keep coming back.

We hadn't been to the Woolly Mammoth since the move years ago. This new spot is so much better and close to great restaurants. We saw Guards at the Taj. The actors were phenomenal. The show was dark, deep and disturbing. We loved it. However, we had to move 3 times before we were in our correct seats. The ushers... More

We've attended both dramatic and comedic performances at the WM, and enjoyed everything. The space is small and intimate- don't think that there's a bad seat in the house. I love their selection of shows, even when they seem bizarre (eg, "Famous Puppet Death Scenes"). The box office has always been efficient and friendly. There are lots of nearby restaurants... More

Cool, fun, off the beaten path shows in a prime location in Penn Quarter. There is a small bar for drinks but tons of options outside the theater as well. As far as seating goes, the theater is small, so unless you absolutely want to be on the front row, for a lot less money, you can be on the... More

This is a beautiful facility that's home to unique, creative shows. The relatively small size of theater makes for intimate performances -- it's easy to see the expressions on the performers' faces and the details in the sets and staging. Wooly Mammoth's large, airy lobby/atrium area has an industrial feel -- all steel, cement, and glass, with wood and brick... More

After years of attending a show or two a year, I've finally taken the plunge and ordered season tickets as this reliable theatre. Woolly offers immersive experiences for theatre-goers, inviting patrons to "get into character" with creative lobby designs and interactions. The plays at this venue are often humorous, and in my experience, always quality.

We're both long time patrons & volunteer ushers at WOOLLY! It's one of the most contemporary of venues in the Penn Quarter area of DC. While WOOLLY is known for it's 'out there' plays ... it also hosts shows from out of town. For example, we just saw last week a Second City of Chicago comedy show called "Let Them... More

We just made our first visit to Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company to see their production of "Zombie: The American" by director/playwright Robert O'Hara ("Antebellum" & the Obie Award winning "Bootycandy", both of which have been produced at Woolly.) Huge "Walking Dead" fan that I am, I'll admit they had me at 'zombies' & Mr. O'Hara's sci-fi thriller/black comedy set in... More
