I have walked and driven past this memorial at least 100 times over the years. On this visit I actually stopped and it was nothing amazing. You can see it if you are driving down Constitution and I would not take time or money to park and visit it. It is accessible from the mall but you do have to cross the street to get there.

Beautiful statue and nice surroundings. It is nice to see him being honored at a place that is available to the general public for free and it is easy to access. The entire area is nice to take a walk and see other touristic sites.

A bit if a walk from The Lincoln Memorial but still worth it if you are inspired by Science and this statue is a fitting tribute to the great man. If you get your photo taken with him, you can send it on social media via the tag #PhotoswithAlbert

PROS
* Great and fun monument- five or six times life size
* Commemorating our greatest scientist and brainy mathematician
* Fun to see and admire the detail
* Climbing on it is a must
* Take a photo while sitting in his "lap" and send it to National Academy of Sciences
* Across the street from Vietnam War Veterans Memorial

CONS
* Less well known
* Less frequently visited (maybe these both are good things)

"I VISITED THI PLACE"...
... because I had wanted to do that for many years on my occsional visits to the monuments circuit tour at night, but never quite made it. This time, I did- during the morning hours, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself in analyzing and photgraphing the sculpture, and of course being photographed while sitting in his lap (see my photos which show my legs and shoes over and parallel to his).

TIP
* Of course do it
* If after ke2000h or other off hours, parking can be directly on Constitution Avenue or one of the small cross streets of the mid20's.
* Read the explanation postings on the side of the tiny plaza
* For sure have your photo taken as described, and then submit it to the National Academy of Sciences (no- I didn't do that).

One of the best kept secrets in D.C. Only steps away from the Viet Nam Memorial. It will make you smile...children of all ages can sit on his lap!!

We love to take pictures with this statue every time we visit D.C. It is across the street from the Lincoln memorial. Einstein is very welcoming and looks different from most other statues in the area. We always seem to visit at night so we have him to ourselves.

Larger than life and an unexpected find, a friend of a friend suggested we look for him and we are so glad we did. Fond memories of this icon!

I really dont know how to find it again as I was on a tour and we did a quick 5 minute walk by on the way to see the Cherry Blossoms in April. Would stop by again.

The statue is actually just across Constitution Avenue from National Mall, close to Lincoln Memorial and just beneath the Academy of Science and the State Department, but not many people know about it. And it is one of the »coolest« memorials in DC, very accessible and fun and people love it for it, love taking pictures at it, I guess just how we imagine Einstein to be. A cool science guy. I think it is actually too often omitted from the guide books about DC.

While on a visit to Washington DC with my daughter, she insisted we find this Memorial. It was worth the time. Albert Einstein contributated so much to the world. Very interesting how if you stand in just the right spot in front on the memorial and whisper you can hear an echo.
