We took a one hour docent led tour. Well worth it! Provided insight to the Kreegers as well as the architect, Philip Johnson. The Kreegers' private home filled with Monet, Picasso, and Rodin to name a few. So glad we decided to visit!!

The Kreegers hired renowned architect Philip Johnson to design their home on Foxhall Road to house their fabulous collection of 19th and 20th century art. The design anticipated that one day the building would become a museum, which is open to the public. Docents lead...More

Fantastic under the radar museum. Incredible collection of Monet's, Picasso's and Kandinsky's. Free but they ask for a donation; $10 is fair. Check out website for hours of guided tours. Give yourself an hour. Plenty of off street parking available. GO!

Not crowded, especially in the morning. Free guided tours are also scheduled quite frequently. Suggested admission fee is...More

Kreeger was a founder/CEO of Geico Insurance, amassed an incredible Impresisionist/Post-Impressionist art collection, then had architect Philip Johnson design this residence as a museum for their collection. Quite a place for a private event like the one we attended. You have to love the "Manet...More

After living in Washington DC for over 15 years I was shocked to find this private collections. It's an amazing two-story Museum filled with sculpture and art with very well-lit rooms.

Although not near a metro stop, this is a very nice art museum. I gave it only 4/5 simply because we are not huge fans of modern art. The house itself is tranquil-it was obviously well designed. The collection of Picasso is impressive and the...More

We have been going to The Kreeger Museum for many years. It's the best kept secret in Washington DC for art 1850's to the present. When my kids where little we went time and again to the Children Story time. A book "When Picasso met...More
