I did not realise until I had visited this tasteful memorial that FDR was quite such an eloquent man. His words certainly linger as does his influence (and that of his enlightened, active partner Eleanor Roosevelt). Perhaps those words were so apposite because he was...More

It was a stop on our tour of Washington at night. It is quite spread out and you walk from area to area tracing FDR's career. It all begins with a statue that FDR simply would not have allowed - he is sitting in his...More

Many great quotes to see while strolling the monument. FDR started us down the Socialism trail with Social Security but he still was a great leader.

The FDR Memorial is one of the great DC memorial but off the main Mall tract and therefore too often overlooked. There is a hidden depth to the lay out snd the sculptures. Best to join a Ranger led tour which would really explain the...More

A very moving monument to a fine statesman. The site has various "rooms" that tell parts of the story of the history of the great man and his family. Along with waterfalls and quotes from the man himself it is surely an inspiring place to...More

This memorial includes several connected plazas surrounded by large blocks with quotes, statues, and scenes of American life during FDR's tenure as president. With rushing water and lush trees and plantings, it is a pleasant spot to visit. A small gift shop marks the entrance.

Walking through you appeciate what a fine statesman and empowering individual FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt were to the country. Seems history put them in the times we needed them and to act in the ways we only can hope for future leaders.

It is sad that this is a little off the mall s that more people do not come here. He was a great man who led us through a bad time n history. And his wife was the first representative at the United Nations. The...More

Not always the most popular of our nation's leaders, FDR memorial is a wonderful tribute to the hard national times that he lead us through and certainly the tough decisions that were made. There is one room for every term, not well lit in the...More

This memorial taught me a lot about FDR. The memorial is sprawling. You can spend at least and hour here. Take your time and take it all in.
