I guess I am not as impressed with this Memorial as I am with the many others on the National Mall. Very large and one is able to get some idea about the scope of FDR's life. I am a little upset that the sculpture of FDR in the wheelchair was added because of protests initially when the memorial opened.... More

Came here on Thursday night and I was surprised that I was the only one walking around. The main points is that each section breaks it down to President's Roosevelt's four terms and each have different sayings and statues representing what he accomplished. Do not miss the chance to visit, especially at night.

This was a great Memorial to FDR. It was also a great overview of the 15 or so years that he was in the White House. Finally, the Monument is arranged as a long walking path through a series of waterfalls and exhibits - perfect for a warm day in the sun !

The FDR memorial covers a large area but still feels very intimate. There weren't a lot of people around and that is a shame because it is a great memorial to a great man.

Despite visiting DC previously, this was my first time to seee the Roosevelt memorial. We were fortunate to visit it during a private evening tour so had all the symbolism explained to us as we went through each of the 4 rooms (one for each term -- spanning the Great Depression to the end of World War II) and then... This is a nice place for families as it offers a little bit of space for children and shade on a hot day. Seek out a tour to explain the different parts of this exhibit and be sure to bring your camera.

Often overlooked, the FDR memorial is a gem. It's a nice, relaxing stroll through stone monuments and sculptures, interspersed with water features. It gives visitors time to reflect and contemplate the years FDR lead our nation.

Ummm, this is the longest memorial on the mall, FDR in no way shape or form deserved what is probably the largest memorial by space on the mall.

We enjoyed a lovely 90 mins tour of the FDR memorial and learnt so much on our 4th visit to the site. The key was to participate in a Ranger guided tour which was interactive, informative and a lot of fun. This is one of the most interesting memorials on the National Mall because it takes you on a journey... More
