There is more here than one realized. The memorial actually has several statues of FDR, including him in his wheelchair. It's four open air 'rooms' (all outside) represent his 4 terms. Pathways lead past waterfalls and statues. It is located at the tidal basin, within easy walking of the MLK Jr. memorial.

The FDR memorial should not be skipped. It's not only a stunning memorial and one of the only memorials with water features, but it's also conveniently on the way from Lincoln to Jefferson. There are no steps at this memorial. The location right by the tidal basin will give you good access to the cherry blossoms in the spring. There's... More

Puts the viewer on ground level where FDR would want us to be with him. This is a terrifically artistic, moving, complete and thoughtful memorial to one of America's greatest presidents.

I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped through here. It is a small park but really well done and is a good tribute to Roosevelt. Every section showcases a different aspect of his life. Recommend stop by if you are in for a nice stroll.

What a President. This memorial is lined with infamous quotes that are extremely powerful. I throughly enjoyed walking around this memorial.

First time here, so many "rooms". It just kept getting better. Fortunate enough to see it at night all lit up, felt very safe w/group.

One of the more underrated Presidential memorials in DC, as it can be hard to find it you don't know where to look. It is along the bank of the tidal basin, tucked into the trees. It is a fantastic place to take a relaxing walk and enjoy the waterfalls built into the memorial along with the interesting history of... More

While not as visibly breathtaking as the Vietnam or Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials, this memorial is nice and spacious. There are water features (which were turned off when we were there), statues, and quotes interspersed along the walls, with sections representing each of FDR's terms in office. I especially liked the quotes, some of which I'd never heard before.

This memorial was very impressive. Each of president roosevelt's four terms were depicted through statues and quotes. The setting along the river was also very calm.

This is indeed an iconic memorial. Now that all the controversy over how and whether or not to show his wheelchair has died down, it's very nice to see a comprehensive monument to the person with most of his legacy achievements in stone as well and in a unique presentation.....love the walk through experience. A great monument worth a few... More
