Amazing worship (and architecture )

Beautiful Christ centered worship, an amazing choir, and awe inspiring architecture. A cathedral to match the ancient Gothic masterpieces of Europe.

You don't have to be religious to appreciate the beauty of this place. Absolutely amazing architecture and stained glass! It is a self guided tour, so you won't be rushed and can take tons of pictures. My wife, daughter and I spent an hour more here than we thought we would due to all there is to see. This was... More

If you take the time to get out here, be sure to do the guided tour, as it includes lots of history and information. Truly a beautiful building. It is not accessible by the Metrorail, so you'll have to take a bus, taxi or rental car to get there.

The Cathedral is one of my favorite places to visit in D.C. I received the gift of a Tour & Tea certificate for Christmas & we went on March 7. Our tour guide, Jane, was one of the most engaging, knowledgeable and fun tour guides we have ever encountered. Jane was a professional tour guide for many years & is... More

The Washington National Cathedral is a true national treasure. It compares well with the better cathedrals of Europe. It was created by a charter passed by the United States Congress on January 6, 1893. It is an active Episcopal church with the official title of Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in the City and Diocese of Washington.... More

Its nice but they charge money to go in (i think $10). Seems a little strange. Beautiful architecture and worth the drive around if you're in the area.

Even though it is of very recent vintage, this magnificent cathedral breathes the air of a European Gothic cathedral. The stained glass windows are marvelous, as are the views from its towers. Be sure to look out for the many fascinating details, like the bust of Martin Luther King on the inside and the Darth Vader gargoyle on the outside.
