Cleverly constructed in Shakespearian meter and with believable character portrayals of the royal family. Gives a bit of education about their democratic system, too. Plot and subplots often treated with humor and touching on timely topics. I think Shakespeare would have approved.

An excellent performance. The seats in the lower bowl are the best. The farther forward the seats, the better the legroom.

On a visit with two families, young children in tow, we caught a performance of The Secret Garden. The production was great--with especially notable staging and sets. The facility is top-notch. Nearby parking is plentiful (even with an event across the street at the Verizon Center). The acting was fine, although most of the Yorkshire accents in this production clearly... More

I have attended many plays at this locale. Yesterday, I saw The Secret Garden. It was mystical, the actors were wonderful, the sets and costumes were amazing. I'm not much into Shakespeare's political plays, but they put this story to music. Obviously, many parents brought their children, but all, even the adults, were enraptured. From the start, I had chills... More

We've seen multiple shows at the Shakespeare Theatre over the years and have never been disappointed. From Don Juan, to The Secret Garden, to Don Quixote, they've all been excellent produced and performed. The staff has always been welcoming and helpful - especially during family week when we took our kids. We just wish that we could afford to go... More

Knew nothing of this theatre. Last week, saw The Secret Garden at the Shakespeare Theatre (Sidney Harman). Others have covered the theatre which I largely echo - good safe location, underground parking, comfy venue. No surprises with venue itself but blown away at the quality of the current production, The Secret Garden. Have attended numerous off Broadway plays and this... More

I'm not sure if it is because it is so late in the production's run, but "Romeo and Juliet" was a gross disappointment at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. Acoustics were miserable. Most of the actors' articulation, diction, and projection were worse than your average junior high school production; here, the performers mumbled and jumbled words more than not. Worst of... More

We've been subscribing for years now at STC and never regretted a thing. Each show is very well executed, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend going.
