A wonderful Capitol Visitors Center

The Capitol Visitors Center is your gateway to visiting the Capitol itself. There is a souvenir store and wonderful self-serve restaurant and some fine exhibits.

...... and places to rest prior to going into the U.S. Capitol Building area. Union Station close by for something to eat as well obvious transport, e.g. trains, and hop-on hop-off buses.

The Capitol is huge! Impressive architecture too (even though there was scaffolding up when I went). It was great to see it and walk around the gardens. I didn't go inside

Stay close to a hotel that's walking distance to Capitol and you would smile your whole walk/stroll/sightseeing through. Shop around for the best price though.

It's under a 4 year cleaning on the outside but on the inside its all to see in its full historical glory. I have to see and my family agrees, this is a must see in DC. Enjoy it, I sure did.

When here definitely take the free guided tour! You can make timed reservations online (a must). The tour itself is very interesting and informative and the building itself is beautiful.

Very beautiful and fabulous building. They made a lot of selfie on the background of it. Beautifully lit at night.

We organized our tour through our congressman. I would say it was worth the effort. Just make sure to arrange it in advance.
