Came for the opening night of the opera "Florencia in the Amazon". It was amazing. Simplely, an amazing experience. The building is elegant, from the rich red interior with the gem studded lights in the ceiling to the clean white marble facade exterior. Before the opera and during the intermission, go outside on the massive patio and enjoy the fountains... More

Maybe not such a convenient location, but it's worth the trip. Situated on the edge of the Potomac, the center has broad terraces from which one can enjoy the views. I recommend the roof top views especially, and there are several restaurants/cafes in the building. Free concerts on the main floor, free tours, and a wealth of theatre and music... More

Took the family to Shear Madness when visiting DC. Food well priced although the Centre itself is quite austere - needs some art work etc about the place. The show was really enjoyable, esp for the teenagers, and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

A major attraction in DC. Not only a center for music and culture, but a part of the Nation's history for the "firsts" that appeared there. The three major venues (Opera House, Symphony Hall, and Eisenhower Theater) offer a immense variety of programs each week. You can buy tickets for many of the performances the day of, but the more... Even if you're not seeing a show at the Kennedy Center, it's worth the hour's time to take the free tour. They will get you into as many theaters as possible, you'll be able to see the gifts from other nations that are scattered around the building and see the presidential suite that is reserved for each performance held at... Try to catch a performance of "Shear Madness". It's one of the longest running plays. It is a comedy/murder and there is some audience participation. Inside the center, The Hall of Nations is very impressive.

We try to do a show at least once a year and have been to the Kennedy Center for a couple of them. Its so neat and clean and the space inside is lovely too. Highly recommend going there! This last time we went to the rooftop and the views from up there are super! You can see all over... More

Had the honor of attending a Jackson Browne concert at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Always reminded what a spectacular building and setting for seeing any show this place is. Beautiful intetior. Fascinating hallway/entryway which includes the Kennedy bust and a great view of the Potomac from the roof terrace and promenade. A must see if you have the time.
