We just attended the 2018 DC Jazz Fest, where 2018 NEA Jazz Master Pat Metheny was honored and performed, his 1st time ever at this venue. The Concert Hall was packed. But the acoustics were really poor. My neighbor had commented the same for a...More

This is a lovely way to spend an evening. I have attended many concerts and shows here, solo or with family and friends, and always leave happy. The Kennedy Center itself is impressive inside. It reminds me somewhat of the Sydney opera house , because...More

We saw 2 performances during our stay, both great. It seemed like the place was friendly to me personally even though it is so large. The staff are good, the surroundings seemed immaculate. A worthy concert hall for the nation's capital.

Since today is JFK's 100 birthday anniversary, thought I should give a plug to the center which bears his name and which fulfilled his vision for a performing arts center in the nation's capital. The center is celebrating this milestone. Many types of performances are...More

If you are from out-of-town and love the arts – theatre, musicals, symphony, opera, or ballet – this is an experience you shouldn’t pass-by. The building and property itself is very impressive, located right on the Potomac River – beautiful views from the main level...More

My wife, son, and I went to the Kennedy Center to see Weilerstein conduct the NSO. The pieces played included some "fan favorites" like Copland's Fanfare, and 3 pieces from Bernstein's On the Town. They were really quite good, very well played, and very predictable...More

This was a beautiful place to see the symphony. My son surprised me with tickets and we went to see a performance of Bach and Handel. The acoustics were perfect and the concert was great. The building is large and ornate. They are preparing for...More

Nestled in a withdrawn lot from the bustling historic D.C. metro area, the Kennedy Center is renowned for its legendary concert programs and exceptionally tasteful atmosphere – which are certainly on par and exceeding our expectations for a modern performance venue. Saw Nikolai Luganski performing...More

My husband and I went to the Kennedy Center to see the Indigo Girls with the National Symphony Orchestra. It was my first time at the Kennedy Center. First, we walked around the inside of the Center admiring the art that graces the open spaces....More

Take the tour -- just great. See the theatres, presidential boxes and rooms donated by countries. Lots of great art to boot.

Very limited because everyone will be out on the mall. If you get a chance check with the hotel to see what activity is going on in town on the mall. Most likely there will be free concerts by the military bands
Is there a 6:00 performance May 18th?

There are lots of performances every day, on several different stages. I have no idea which one you are asking about. But I'd look at the web site for info.
Have seen recommendations for a free 6 pm concert. Did not see anything on your site. How does one find out where to go, if it's scheduled while we're there, etc. thank you.
