When a friend told me The Kennedy Center has free concerts EVERY DAY I was shocked. When I accompanied her to one such concert and found the performance to be top notch entertainment, I was more shocked! These are not students honing their skills, the musicians that perform even the free shows are true professionals. The Kennedy Center is a... More

Our first visit to the Kennedy Center was too late on a Sunday for a tour, but we were lucky enough to catch the 20th anniversary celebration of the free daily concerts on the Millenneum Stage. We took the Metro to the Foggy Bottom stop. The walk to the Kennedy Center is just a few blocks. Definitely worth a visit.

Quite often I will just go to one show. My family likes musicals. But over the years we have discovered that if we join and support the Kennedy Center, we get in early prior to the show to avoid the crowds and during the intermission, they give us snacks. This is a treat for my grandchildren and my 86 year... More

My first opera did not know what to expect not only was Kennedy Center beautiful but so was the opera Champion was amazing. Went two days later for National symphony and that was also a great experience. My D.C. trip would not have been the same without the Kennedy center

As someone who has spent a lot of time at this amazing cultural center ( in meetings and rehearsals ect) I can only say that the atmosphere is unparalleled in class. Of all the theaters I have attended I am always pleased by the general feeling at the KC and the kindness of the employees. They are all there to... More

We went to the Opera House to see/hear a performance of "Champion," a contemporary opera in English based on the life of the 1940's-50's boxer, Emile Griffith with music by Terrence Blanchard. We had NO idea what to expect, but this was easily the most moving opera I've ever seen. The music, the libretto, the staging, the performances, and the... More

We visited the Kennedy Center to catch the FREE 6 pm show on the Millennium Stage. The free shows are awesome! The building is a sight to see as well. We caught Mala Waldron, a jazz pianist. Such a great show. The show lasted about an hour and was magnificent!

We had a couple of hours to spend prior to our flight home. In the hotel magazine we found a little paragraph on the Kennedy Center. We walked down to the Center and asked about the guided tour. We were the only one on the tour! We got a detailed tour of the entire building, the treasure-trove of art work,... More

Last evening, my son and I attended the very special "Justice at the Opera" featuring not only the fantastic opera performers but hosted by the Honorable Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Wow! Wow! Wow! What an incredible evening we and the entire audience enjoyed! Justice Ginsberg loves opera and shared many... More

the history behind some of the fixtures and design is very interesting and I thought the Swedish crystal lighting, drapery and design of interior lovely. A nice surprise. Several different performing arts spaces and a public performance is typically ongoing. we happened through on a weeknight and came upon some beautiful dancing. Terrific bust sculpture of JFK and nice dining... More
