Tons of great work by many world renown artists. If your local art gallery than you really should't miss this if you are in the area. Bit of a walk between buildings, so that's a bit of a pain.

Yes, the National Gallery of Art is a federally funded museum and would close in case on government shutdown.

Yes you can be dropped right at the handicapped entrance. I am not sure if they have wheelchairs or scooters available. You can check their website. It is very user friendly with ramps and elevators and super nice staff!
