The Kusama exhibit was a spectacular journey into light. Other portions of the museum delightful. And my longtime favorite - the sculpture garden - had so many pieces to admire in a beautiful setting. I look forward to coming back.

I tried to get tickets when they opened up online but they were all given out in less than 10 seconds. My son and I visited the museum anyway to see the other exhibits. It ranked low on my son's ranking of Smithsonian museums. The Yayoi Kusana: Infinity Mirrors exhibit is coming to Seattle next so we will try to... More

Get there at 8:00 A.M. To get tickets and plan to wait 2.5 hours to get tickets for later in the day. Forget trying to get tickets by the Internet. This is there most popular show in history. Get there at 9 A.M.. and you will not get a ticket. So worth the wait. Incredible exhibit.

Started to line up at 7:30 am Saturday morning and the line was already long, my daughter and her friend line up and it took until 10:30-11 am to get the tickets and by the time they got the 3pm ticket. I was so excited when we got the tickets, thinking that it was going to be an hour or... More

This is general advice for everyone getting same tickets. Yes you will have to line up early, there's no getting around that. We went on weekend, first attempt Saturday morning. Got in line just before 8:00 am and ticket had all been claimed while we were about 50 people behind cutoff. Sunday morning got in line before 7:00 am and... More

I'm trying not to be biased by the fact that I'm not a big lover of modern art. Our kids wanted to check it out, and we'd heard it was one of THE premier places for modern art in the country, so we figured it was worth a visit. My complaints about the place truly are -- despite the fact... More

I had a story to tell -- My wife and I have wanted to see “Yayoi Kusana: Infinity Mirrors” at the Hirshhorn museum of Smithsonian, DC for over one month. I tried to get the tickets online a couple of times, but unsuccessful. So, we went to the museum for our luck with our neighbors today. We got there around... More

Once you are done seeing the big museums, it won't hurt to visit Hirshhorn. It is a deviation from the norm. People who are not perfectionist may appreciate it more. It has a large collection of objects from gilded age with the effect of wars on it. What happens to perfection during the time of change and uncertainty? Getting the... More

Make sure you get a ticket, this can be hard to get into on a weekend. but the modern art inside and outside are excellent. THis place probably gets overlooked by the masses but on the weekend all the passes go early so if you can book online do so.
