Easy to get to and all displays marked well. Spend time there with breaks with children. Too much for a one day visit. Food was very pricey, even McDonalds prices were extremely high.

This is "the castle". None of the fabulous collections of "things" that you hear about being in the Smithsonian are housed here. The Smithsonian collection has become so huge that it must be scattered in multiple museums across DC. That being said, back to the...More

We visited the Natural History and American History Smithsonian museums. Both are free, but there is so much to see you really need at least two days for each. We ran out of time to see the Air & Space Museum but hoping to see...More

Visited Aerospace (downtown and at Dulles) and Native American museums. Very well presented, not too crowded, unbelievable exhibits, from Discovery to explanation of how the Wrights discovered flight.

These are also the two that are the most crowded and get overrun with children, but that's because they're the best. I recommend skipping a lot of the art museums if you have kids, they'll get bored quickly.
