Get a couple of photos and take in the monument and surrounds. Note it is closed - you can't go inside - as under repair. But then best experienced looking at it from the outside

Located on the Mall in Washington D.C. this monument stands tall. It is currently closed for repairs and you are not allowed to enter but you can walk right up to it and experience it from the outside.

Such a beautiful sight to see from any vantage point. A true centerpiece for DC. Take the time to take in the size truly amazing.

Another of the must see monuments. Visible from all over D.C. This iconic monument is hard to miss. The monument is currently closed for some repairs but still worth going to see. Notice the different stone colors from when it was first erected.

Another must see while in Washington DC. I love the history here at the Capitol of our Country. If I had to complain it would be about parking. Parking is terrible in DC if you aren't familiar with the are. Plan ahead is my advice.

This is a stunning monument, however don't forgo the amazing experience of walking down to the Lincoln Memorial. On a beautiful and warm night in June, the walk from the Washington Memorial, past the World War Two memorial to the Lincoln memorial is something not...More

Not much you can say about this since it is closed except that it is awesome to look at and walk around. Visited many years ago and it wasn't open then and it still isn't now. Not to worry though as the Mall will keep...More

Every time we go, it's something! First trip (years ago) we didn't know we needed to get tickets early in the day. This time the elevator is down for YEARS, so no going to the top. I do like they have a ranger on the...More

First stop on our Sunday tour visiting the National Mall. Elevators currently under construction so no inside visiting (second time in a row), but the outside structure itself is magnificent and the views are sublime. Take an hour for coffee or to just relax and...More

Typically cancellations are done at the Visitor Centrex or at the Park Rangers Office. I have seen it being done at Visitor Centrex in some places though I have not done it .

About 30 minutes. When you get to the top, you theoretically can spend as much time as you want. Most people spend about 15 minutes taking in the views and reading the information on the walls before heading back to the... More
