I loved going to this museum. They had a preserved giant squid, which was amazing. I love the guides taking us around and telling us about the exhibits. I loved this museum.

Truly splendid museum covering every aspect of US history. Enormous, so allow at least a full day. The automotive and technical sections are especially well put together but it's all great.

I love science and animals so this museum is made for me. There is enough here to keep adults and children interested and entertained. We were there for about 4 hours.

Not sure how long you are in DC. But, State Plaza and Residence Inn seem both comfortable and in close proximity to all the historic sites in Washington DC. Hope you have a fun trip!

The museum opens at 10am. I have never lined up nor have I waited more than 1 min to enter. There is a security check and it goes quickly.
