This is a must-see for your next trip to DC. A beautiful memorial with plenty of shade and seating nearby. The perfectly resting spot after hiking it up to the Lincoln Memorial.

This memorial is extremely moving with all the names of our lost vets. There were 100's of people however extremely quiet while people walked through the memorial. This was a very emotional memorial and should be seen when in Washington DC.

We r a military family and this hit home for us, a powerful memorial for me and our party. Most people respectful and was well worth the trip and one of the reasons we come to DC to see this memorial.

I've gone by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial many times over the last 30 years. This month (June 2016) I saw a very low number of tourists and very very small number of personal memorials at the wall. Has the relevance worn off, I wonder?

Just to see so many names of the Soldiers who Died there is Unreal...People leave pictures of there loved ones who died...I saw a picture and a handwritten letter in a plastic bag that really touched me...

It is a quiet place to reflect on what many have given in support of our country. I hope more people visit and are as moved as I was.

Off the top of my head, the Smithsonian stop puts you out right in the middle of the national mall, so you'd still have a bit of a walk. Not too far though.

A 91 yr old vet friend would like me to be his escort on an honor flight. I am an 80 yr old woman ( not a vet). What would be the requirements for me to do this?

I stayed at the Monaco Hotel, and walked everywhere--It could not have been more convenient....well, maybe with the exception of the Lincoln Bedroom.
