Feelin' hungry, this is the place to go if you are wanting fast food. McDonald to Chick-fil-A. Great place to have coffee while waiting for a train or bus. The architecture is beautiful. Close proximity to downtown.

Built to stand the test of time
Built in the early 1900s, Union Station has survived the test of time. This beautiful Beaux Arts style building contains a shopping mall, plenty of dining options and the central terminal for buses and trains. P.S. Check out the main hall's ceiling made of plaster and twenty-two gold leaf. There are figures of Roman legionaires located on the edge of the balcony. I'm told the figures were originally nude and the officials put shields to cover the body parts.

    An organized train station
Took my Amtrak train for New York from Union Station in Washington DC. It is quite a big station, it has got a number of restaurants. It is well organized with plenty of train schedule screens so you can't get lost.

    Three Seniors in There 70's.
The trip to Washington DC was truly awesome, We arrived on Friday (10/6/23) by Amtrak. We stayed in a Sonder. It had a full kitchen. This was near the Navy Yard. Being a Navy veteran that was great to see and hear the raiseing of the flag. We walked to the supermarket . On Saturday we tour the National Museum of African American History and Culture. On Sunday we attended worship service at Riverside Baptist church and walk down to tour the Bible Museum. Then on Monday we was off to the Zoo. Then a sit down meal at the Cheese Cake Factory. We cooked breakfast at the Sonder each morning and save money that way. We traveled around town be Uber. Then on Tuesday (10/10/23) we was back on Amtrak. We're be back.

    Attractive architecture, inside and out.
Union Station is both attractive and functional. In addition to serving as a very convenient travel hub (both Amtak and the Metro meet here), there is interesting shopping and a better than average food court. I always enjoy this place, whether patronizing or just passing through.

Heritage and state of the art train station
We booked Amtrak train day trip from New York to Washington to visit family in April 2023. We were impressed by the unique station architecture which combined heritage with modern style. The station is clean and spacious. There are various food and beverages shops. It is very close to the Capitol (walking distance). Also very close to the hop on hop off buses where you can use to explore the city.

Always worth a stop to see history still in working action
I end up here every trip to DC, mainly because the conference I usually go to is nearby and Union Station is a great place to grab a quick lunch, hit the drugstore for room supplies, and just hang out in the marble halls watching thousands of people rush through. There is also a pretty good tourist gift shop on the far end of the shopping area on the top level that I often get gifts from before heading home. It is worth at least 15 minutes to wander through and think of all the history that has come through here.

Took the Acela from PHI to WAS for the weekend. The ride was quick and smooth. It was easy to get from the station to our hotel on the Metro. On the way back, we stopped at Blue Bottle Coffee.

Wow. Amazingly beautiful station both inside and outside. The outside has an impressive statue as it's centerpiece. The inside has beautiful walls and a wonderful old clock

It is not possible to have a decent experience with Hertz Rental at Union Station
We have tried twice and both times were absolutely awful
They rented us a Tesla
As we hit the road a warning came on screen telling us LOW TIRE PRESSURE. PULL OVER IMMEDIATELLY
No Hertz roadside service after an hour on hold. Extremely poor signage to return
The car. A line up of 100 cars down a ramp for return. And more. Don’t do it. We have learned a lesson here. A once proud company is now the worst
