I've been to DC many times and never visited because it's tucked away behind the US Capitol Building - this time I went on a tour and was so impressed with the restoration and collection of maps. The Reading Room looked spectacular and the tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of the building.

Well I know I'm a bit of a nerd. For reasons I can't fathom, I had never visited the Library of Congress after a number of visits. When I'm in the city on business I try to add an afternoon of touring to explore. The building is beautiful and has a great history. The collection is amazing. The docent lead... More

Loved it. Just fantastic. The building was spectacular. Wish we could have actually seen the books, but the building was well worth it.

Amazing building. Many areas are museum exhibits. Take the docent led tour. Like most things in DC, this is also free.

Great building to visit and to photograph. Amazing murals, columns, stained glass. The Reading Room was very special, but you had to view it from the overlook, which was glass enclosed.

i love old buildings and this is a must if you are into architectural pieces and history. we were there in April, lots of school trips rain or shine, although school groups stay on the main areas or tours and when you are at the library -the part that you visit- there is not many people around, great collections.

This is by far the prettiest building in all of DC. You can spend 10 minutes or 10 hours here depending on your interests. Even if you don't have a lot of time, take a quick peek inside. The docent led tours are informative and interesting. They have a Gutenberg Bible, Thomas Jefferson's Library where you can walk around a... More

If you are visiting the capital this is worth the trip because you can use the underground tunnel without re clearing security. The building itself is amazing, although it was on the crowded side when we went because of weather. They also had a nice bible collection. This is not someplace you could spend a whole day but you could... More

There's not much to do here but see the architecture. It's beautiful. We only spent about 1/2 hour here. It's good for a quick drop in to say that you've been here. We glanced through Thomas Jefferson's library, which was neat. And the overhead viewing area of the study hall was interesting. It's a huge place in there! The Gutenberg... More
