My wife is a book lover, so seeing something of this magnitude was a lot of fun for her. It's a pretty quick stop, but worth it.

We did not set out to visit the Library of Congress but decided to do so on the advice of David, our excellent tour guide of the US Capitol. He also told that we would be able to use the Tunnel from the visitor’s center thereby bypassing the security screen for the library. We were not disappointed! We were invited... More

We caught a tour on the half hour, and this proved to be most enlightening. The history is one thing, but the architecture is altogether something else. It... More

A definite must see! The inside is so gorgeous...high ceilings, intricate art and illustrations. Large area to view the inside of the actual library. Lots of history in this building!

If you are wanting to actually visit books, this is not the library to visit. You can see the reading room and take a picture, but you have to have a library card and declare what you would like to research in order to actually use the massive resources. The bit that is open to tourists has exhibits and history,... More

Definitely one of our biggest surprises... As soon as you walk into the main vestibule you can't stop looking at the ceiling in awe. Very impressive.

An amazing bit of architecture makes this one of my favorites when in Washington. The contents are treasures of U.S. History.
